We are always looking for new volunteers to get actively involved in our campaigning
Newham Cyclists is effective because of our volunteers. But advocating for safe cycling in our borough is a lot of work.
I want to help
First of all—you’re awesome! Secondly, please fill out our volunteers’ form so we have your details—you’ll get a reply from us soon!
We need help year-round with the following topics:
- General campaigning, for instance flyering & outreach work to local residents, business owners, and community groups
- Area monitoring—for instance, taking photos of a scheme under construction, or recording video where there is a known issue
- Council relationship management (e.g. with politicians, elected officials, and officers)
- Comms (e.g. social media, photos/video, talking to and writing articles for the local press)
- Responding to consultations on behalf of the group
- Leading and marshalling rides
- Organising events
- Bike checks, mechanics, and front-of-house at our monthly Fix Your Ride stall and at the start of larger rides
